The Ukrainian mayonnaise market remains one of the most stable in the food industry, demonstrating constant demand even in times of changing consumer habits. Despite competition from new generation sauces, classic mayonnaise maintains its position thanks to customer trust, a wide range and recognizable brands. In 2025, Ukrainian Business Award (UBA) experts studied the activities of leading manufacturers to identify brands that combine product quality, production stability and the ability to develop in modern market conditions. The study was conducted in cooperation with analytical partners Serpstat and Clarity Project, covering financial, marketing, consumer and reputational indicators.

By what criteria were the Mayonnaise brands evaluated?

Product range

The diversity of the range reflects the scale of production and the depth of each brand’s product portfolio. Companies that offer a wide selection of mayonnaises, mayonnaise sauces and spice variations are able to meet the expectations of different categories of buyers – from classic recipes to lines with reduced fat or quail eggs. A rich range also indicates the manufacturer’s flexibility in responding to seasonal trends and changes in demand. This criterion is one of the key ones in determining the market stability of a brand.

Variety of fat content options

Distribution by fat content is an important indicator of a brand’s concern for the consumer. Manufacturers with a wide range of fat content offer products for different target groups – from professional cooking to daily home use. Such brands demonstrate a deep understanding of modern eating habits and trends towards reducing the calorie content of the diet. A balanced portfolio according to this parameter helps the brand expand its audience and increase customer loyalty.

Presence in large retail chains

Presence in all-Ukrainian retail chains is evidence of trust in the brand from trading partners and the ability to maintain stable supply volumes. Brands represented in Silpo, ATB, Auchan, NOVUS, METRO and other chains gain a direct competitive advantage due to wider access to customers. A high level of representation ensures constant demand renewal and creates a sense of reliability among consumers. Brands that actively work with retail demonstrate a systematic approach to logistics, quality control, and marketing.

Educational content (recipes, articles, tips)

Publications with tips and culinary recipes have long become an integral part of brand communication with customers. Manufacturers who create recipe content not only promote their product, but also increase the value of the brand in the eyes of the consumer. Such materials contribute to the formation of an emotional connection with the brand and stimulate repeat purchases. Companies that actively invest in culinary education create communities around themselves and strengthen their image as experts in the industry.

CX (Customer Experience Index)

This indicator reflects the quality of brand interaction with the consumer – from packaging and taste to service and feedback. A high CX index indicates stable quality, trust and positive perception of the brand by customers. Companies with the best scores in this criterion are distinguished by modern approaches to communication, honesty in positioning and constant work on improving recipes. This parameter became one of the key ones in determining the final results of the rating.

Brand Awareness (Google Brand Searches)

A brand’s popularity in search engines reflects the level of trust and interest of consumers. The number of Google searches is directly correlated with buyer activity and brand awareness in the market. High scores on this metric indicate a strong communications strategy, effective advertising campaigns, and a consistent presence in the media space. For many companies, this factor has become a driving force in sales growth in 2025.

Years on the market

The length of a brand’s existence demonstrates its resilience to market fluctuations and its ability to adapt to new conditions. Companies with a long history build consumer trust, as their stability has been proven by generations. At the same time, younger brands that are actively growing show the dynamics of innovation and fresh approaches to production. This balance between experience and modernity has become a characteristic feature of the mayonnaise market in 2025.

Buyer ratings on Google reflect the real perception of the brand, regardless of advertising campaigns. A high percentage of positive reviews means trust, stable quality and audience loyalty. Companies that demonstrate a stable increase in indicators usually have a flexible strategy, strong distribution and effective marketing. Analysis of dynamics allows you to see not only leaders, but also those who may become new market stars in the coming years. This criterion is especially important for predicting the development of the industry as a whole.

Website traffic

Activity on the official website is an indicator of the brand’s digital effectiveness. High traffic indicates successful SEO optimization, a well-thought-out content strategy and real interest in products. Companies that systematically develop their online channels gain an advantage in long-term communication with consumers. In 2025, this indicator became a marker of digital maturity of brands.

Social media presence

Social media is the main channel for direct communication with consumers. The brand’s activity on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok indicates a modern marketing approach and understanding of audience behavior. Companies that constantly interact with customers receive an additional channel for promoting products and building trust. This criterion helps to assess not only the popularity, but also the quality of the brand’s digital image.

UBA jury assessment

The final score is formed on the basis of the UBA jury’s expert assessment, which takes into account all aspects of the company’s activities: from innovation and marketing to product quality. The jury members analyze not only dry numbers, but also reputational and image factors that form the true value of the brand. It is this criterion that determines the final place of the brand in the ranking.

The largest assortment among Ukrainian mayonnaise producers is Korolivskyi Smak — 21 items in the line, which includes classic mayonnaises, mayonnaise sauces and special culinary options. The SHCHEDRO brand took second place with 18 items, offering both traditional recipes and sauces with additional flavors. The third place was shared by OLIS and Kuhar Richelieu, which have 8–9 items each, which allows them to cover the middle segment of consumers. Brands such as Olkom and Runa maintain a moderate but stable assortment, focusing on quality rather than quantity.

In the category of fat content options, the leaders were SHCHEDRO and Korolivsky Smak — 7 types of mayonnaise with different percentages of fat each. This indicates a flexible approach to consumers who are looking for both classic rich recipes and light options. OLIS and Kuhar Richelieu have 6 options each, providing a wide choice for different culinary needs. Other market participants, in particular CHUMAK, Olkom and Runa, maintain a stable offer of 5 different fat contents, which corresponds to the average market level.

The Olkom, Smachno kam viby, CHUMAK and Korolivsky Smak brands achieved the maximum indicator — 9 out of 10, confirming national coverage. They are represented in leading chains, such as ATB, Silpo, METRO, NOVUS and Varus, which ensures a high level of availability. The middle positions are occupied by SHCHEDRO and GUSTÓ (6 points each), which are actively expanding sales channels. The Runa and OLIS brands still have limited distribution, but are demonstrating stable growth in regional chains.

Korolivsky Smak is the undisputed leader in creating culinary content, with 59 thematic materials on its website and social media pages. SHCHEDRO is actively developing this strategy, offering 32 recipes and articles for consumers. OLIS and GUSTÓ also have a powerful content base (21 publications each), which helps them strengthen their connection with customers. On the other hand, CHUMAK, Gulyai-Polé and Runa do not yet use educational content as a marketing tool.

The highest score — 10 out of 10 — was received by five brands at once: OLIS, SHCHEDRO, CHUMAK, Korolivsky Smak and Runa. Their products are distinguished by their stable taste, high-quality packaging and consumer loyalty. Gulyai-Polé, Olkom, GUSTÓ, Smachno y vybytny and Kuhar Richelieu — companies that demonstrate a high level of service and care for customers, are one point lower. This indicator became one of the decisive factors in forming the final rating.

In terms of search queries on Google, Korolivskyi Smak, SHCHEDRO and CHUMAK are leading. Their brands have the highest recognition among consumers and are consistently present in the information field. OLIS, GUSTÓ and Runa demonstrate an average level of popularity, which are actively investing in digital promotion. Newer brands, such as Kuhar Richelieu and Gulyai-Polye, are gradually increasing their online presence, focusing on regional markets.

The oldest brands are Runa, Smachno y vysya and Olkom, which have been operating for over 75 years. These companies have shaped consumer culture since Soviet times and have retained the trust of generations. OLIS, GUSTÓ and Korolivskyi Smak have been operating for over three decades, demonstrating stability and quality. In contrast, Kuhar Richelieu is the youngest brand in the rating, being only 13 years old, but is actively increasing its recognition.

The leader in this indicator was Korolivskyi Smak with a score of 99% positive ratings. Second place went to Kuhar Richelieu (96%), which receives favorable reviews for taste and consistency. OLIS, Runa and Gulyai-Polye maintain a stable indicator within 90%. The lowest results are achieved by SCHEDRO and Olkom, which indicates the need to improve quality or service in certain regions.

CHUMAK showed the highest growth dynamics with an indicator of 0.55, which indicates an effective rebranding strategy. They are followed by Gulyai-Polé (0.22) and OLIS (0.13), which are steadily increasing their market share. Korolivskiy Smak and GUSTÓ have moderate growth, maintaining stability in the premium segment. Brands with zero dynamics, such as Kuhar Richelieu, are focused on maintaining their positions and working with a loyal audience.

The largest number of visits was recorded in SHCHEDRO – over 23,000 visitors per month, which confirms the effectiveness of digital marketing. Runa took second place with a result of 2,913 visitors, and CHUMAK (2,549) was third. Korolivskiy Smak, Olkom and OLIS have about a thousand transitions, demonstrating stable online activity. The lowest indicators are in Hulyai-Polye and Kukhar Richelieu, which do not yet use the site as the main communication tool.

The leaders of digital presence were Olkom and Smachno yak vyshy, which received 5 points each for activity on social networks. The brands regularly update content, interact with subscribers and conduct promotional campaigns. SHCHEDRO and Runa showed a decent level of activity (4 points each), continuing to form a modern image. Gulyai-Polye and Korolivsky Smak remain less active, which are limited to traditional promotion channels.

The final results of the expert jury determined Korolivsky Smak as the leader of the rating with a score of 4.8, confirming its reputation as a stable and high-quality brand. In second place were OLIS, SHCHEDRO and GUSTÓ, which received 4.3 points each due to a balanced combination of quality and marketing activity. Next were Olkom and Smachno yak vyshy (4.2 each), which maintain strong positions in their segment. The lowest scores were received by Runa, Gulyai-Polye, Kuhar Richelieu, and CHUMAK, which have the potential for further improvement.

The analysis made it possible to form an objective rating of Ukrainian mayonnaise brands, which takes into account not only the breadth of the assortment, but also the quality of the products, customer experience, brand recognition and digital activity. Each of the TOP-10 participants demonstrated the stability of production, the ability to adapt to market changes and confidently hold the attention of Ukrainian consumers. The final scores identified the undisputed leaders of the industry, which combine traditions and modern approaches to brand development.
