The Ukrainian market of natural pet food is actively developing and has already become a noticeable part of the general pet food segment. The demand for high-quality and environmentally friendly products for dogs and cats is growing, as more and more pet owners are thinking about the composition of food, its impact on the health of their pets and the environmental friendliness of production. In 2025, the Ukrainian Business Award presented a rating of the TOP-5 natural pet food manufacturers in Ukraine, which was formed according to ten key criteria: from the breadth of the assortment to customer orientation, brand recognition and the results of an independent jury assessment.
HOME FOOD provides the largest selection on the market — 577 items. This allows the company to cover almost all categories: dry and wet food, delicacies, specialized formulas for different age groups and even functional products for animals with special needs. PRACTIK with 88 SKUs and Carpathian Pet Food with 61 items are focused on the middle segment — they offer a smaller but more structured assortment. NATURALKA (47 SKUs) and Half&Half (45 SKUs) act as niche players, focusing on specific areas and the quality of individual lines, rather than quantity.

Marketing activities remain an important tool in the fight for the client. HOME FOOD demonstrates the highest activity (4 special offers), which helps to attract new customers and stimulate repeat orders. PRACTIK and Half&Half (3 promotions each) apply a flexible pricing policy, especially during seasonal peaks of demand. Carpathian Pet Food (2) and NATURALKA (1) use promotional tools less intensively, relying on stable demand and customer loyalty.
The structured nature of the offer is one of the markers of brand maturity. HOME FOOD and PRACTIK offer 3 separate lines of feed each, which allows them to meet the needs of different categories of animals and form a flexible positioning policy. Carpathian Pet Food has 2 main directions, focusing on key segments. On the other hand, Half&Half and NATURALKA do not yet offer full-fledged lines, which makes their offer more targeted.

The highest scores on the customer orientation index were received by NATURALKA, PRACTIK and Half&Half (10 out of 10 each). This indicates high quality of service, attentiveness to customers and quick response to requests. HOME FOOD and Carpathian Pet Food (9 each) also show strong results, but have some room for improvement. In general, the natural pet food market in Ukraine is characterized by a fairly high level of customer service compared to other pet food segments.
Among the leaders, PRACTIK has the longest experience — 11 years. Slightly younger, but also experienced players — NATURALKA and HOME FOOD (10 years each). Their many years of experience build trust among customers and partners. Carpathian Pet Food has been operating on the market for 6 years, and Half&Half for only 2, but the latter company demonstrates dynamic development and rapid growth potential.

PRACTIK and HOME FOOD are the leaders in terms of the number of brand searches on Google, which indicates high recognition and popularity. NATURALKA holds an average position, while Carpathian Pet Food and Half&Half are still less known to the general public, focusing mainly on local communities and recommendations from customers.
The digital presence of the companies confirms their popularity: HOME FOOD has received over 304 thousand visits in the last three months, making it the undisputed leader in the digital environment. PRACTIK has received 266 thousand conversions, confirming its status as one of the most recognizable brands. NATURALKA (46 thousand), Carpathian Pet Food (27 thousand) and Half&Half (almost 6 thousand) have much more modest indicators, which indicates the need for larger online campaigns.

A key indicator of product and service quality is the level of positive reviews. The absolute record is set by NATURALKA, which has 100% positive ratings. PRACTIK (98%) and Carpathian Pet Food (94%) also show a very high level of trust. Half&Half holds 93%, and HOME FOOD has 85%, which indicates certain customer comments that the company still has to work through.
Social networks are becoming the main channel of communication with customers. PRACTIK (4 active platforms) is confidently leading. Carpathian Pet Food and HOME FOOD (3 each) occupy stable positions. Half&Half and NATURALKA are presented more modestly (2 each), which reduces their involvement in the dialogue with customers.

The natural pet food market in Ukraine is in the stage of active development and is already forming high standards. The leaders of 2025 are PRACTIK and HOME FOOD, which combine many years of experience, a large assortment and a powerful digital presence. NATURALKA is distinguished by its impeccable reputation and ability to build trust, which allows it to confidently compete with top players. Carpathian Pet Food remains stable, but needs to strengthen marketing efforts. Half&Half is the youngest brand in the rating, but with the prospect of becoming an important player due to the expansion of the assortment and more active work in digital. Competition in the segment continues to grow, which will positively affect the quality, price and service for the end consumer.
