OLEKSANDR KORCHYHA — ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR 2022 ACCORDING TO THE UKRAINIAN BUSINESS AWARD

Oleksandr Korchyha is a Ukrainian entrepreneur who proves through his activities that the energy independence of the state begins with specific decisions on the ground. The founder and head of TEG LLC, established in 2016, he became one of those who, long before the energy crisis, showed that the future lies in alternative fuels.

Since its inception, the TEG company has had a clear mission – to replace expensive imported natural gas with alternative heat sources. The initiative immediately found support, as it corresponded to the state development strategy and the course towards energy independence of Ukraine.

In the first years of its activity, the company undertook the technical re-equipment of boiler houses of budgetary institutions. One of the key facilities is the Khorolsky Agro-Industrial College of the Poltava State Agrarian Academy, where the company implemented a project to switch to solid fuel. The decision allowed:

  • reduce the cost of heat production;
  • reduce annual greenhouse gas emissions;
  • create new jobs in the region;
  • ensure the stability of heat supply without dependence on imported gas.

Under the leadership of Oleksandr Korchyh, TEG not only developed its business, but also made a significant contribution to local communities. Savings in budget funds on heating educational institutions, hospitals and municipal institutions became tangible support for territorial communities in difficult economic times.

The company worked according to the model: its own investments in modernization – and further supply of thermal energy at approved tariffs lower than gas. This made it possible to reduce consumer costs by an average of 20%.

In 2022, the activities of Oleksandr Korchyha and his company became even more relevant. In the conditions of energy instability, Ukraine needed solutions that would reduce dependence on imports and preserve financial resources. “TEG” proved: the transition to alternative fuels is not only about the economy, but also about ecology and energy security.

His example proves: true entrepreneurship is not only about business, but also about responsibility to society and the state.
