The Future of Ukrainian Vending: Insights from Dmytro Kurenkov
Representatives of EasyVending shared their experience and insights not only at the stands, but also during conferences and discussions within the exhibition. Here are the key points from Dmitry Kurenkov’s speeches.
On the challenges of war:
“Currently, the number of consumers in Ukraine has decreased, but so has the number of small and medium-sized business entrepreneurs. This opens up new opportunities for everyone.”
On competition:
“There is a lot of competition among companies that make money from coffee, which is why they lose their margins. Therefore, introduce additional services and additional products, such as snacks, sweets, etc. – this will increase the average check and increase the profitability of the business.”
On risks in business:
“In business, those entrepreneurs who take risks, despite various challenges, have advantages. Do not miss opportunities, experiment, even despite some problems in the local or global market. But pay attention to not only actively developing, but also to monitoring the costs that the company incurs every week, every month, every year. And pay attention to trends that can be implemented in your local market.”
On consumer tastes:
“People and their tastes in locations are constantly changing. In general, there is a buyer for every product, so it is always worth testing drinks in different locations, and offering many drink options in each location.”
About contactless payment:
“Some entrepreneurs who are just entering the vending market are abandoning bill and coin acceptors in favor of modern contactless payment. But we have quite a few cases that show that consumers still continue to use bill and coin acceptors. Therefore, it is worth always testing different payment systems at each new location, and also always keeping your finger on the pulse, because technologies are developing rapidly.”
About AI in vending:
“In Ukraine, it is still not developed. Artificial intelligence in the vending business makes it possible to create certain ecosystems, unite consumers in a community, determine their needs, increase sales using push notifications, and more. Such technologies are currently being implemented by large companies such as StarBucks and Cofix. We still have a long way to go.”
