Rating of the Best Beer Stores in Ukraine from Ukrainian Business Award

The Ukrainian beer store market in 2025 is going through a stage of active transformation. Beer has long ceased to be just a drink – it has become part of the culture of leisure, a way of communication and even a tool for the development of gastronomic trends. The growth in the number of specialized retail outlets, the expansion of the assortment, the emergence of craft brands and the development of additional product categories have made this segment one of the most dynamic in retail.
Ukrainian Business Award analysts evaluated the most famous beer store chains according to key criteria: from the volume of the assortment and the number of locations to the level of customer orientation, brand recognition, reputation on Google and presence in social networks. The rating showed which companies are confidently setting the tone, and which are still looking for their niche.
The undisputed leader in terms of the number of items was Hop Hey — 265 items in the catalog. Such a wide selection allows you to satisfy the most demanding buyer — from connoisseurs of classic lagers to fans of experimental IPAs and stouts. O Market took second place with 182 types, which indicates its orientation to different tastes and categories of consumers. Opillya (99 items) and Good Beer (98) focused on a combination of their own production and popular varieties, while smaller players, such as Pivna Lavka (37 and 25), PYVASOV (23), BeerMarket (22), Remeslo Brewery (20) and Pivo Plus (13), are betting on a highly specialized offer and craft formats.

The largest number of additional product categories is presented in Hop Hey — 22, which makes the stores of this chain not only a point of sale of beer, but also a universal place to purchase snacks and related products. BeerMarket (20 categories) is developing a similar strategy, expanding the possibilities for customers. In the middle segment — Tandem Plus (12), Pivo Plus (11), PYVASOV and Pivna Lavka (10 each), which offer the optimal balance of beer and snacks. Opillya has 9 categories, while Remeslo Brewery — only 7, emphasizing its own production. The most modest choice is in Good Beer and O Market (5 each), but this is compensated by the breadth of the beer assortment.
The Hop Hey chain remains the largest player with 312 stores across the country, which provides it with a stable presence in most regions. Good Beer takes second place — 226 stores, demonstrating confident growth in the middle segment. BeerMarket (100 locations) and PYVASOV (77) form a strong layer of mid-sized players that are active in the regions. Small chains such as Remeslo Brewery (54), Pivna Lavka (43) and Pivo Plus (32) focus on local markets, while Tandem Plus (27) has a long history but a limited presence. O Market (22) and Opillya (6) have the fewest stores, but both companies rely on other advantages – a wide range or their own production.

The most geographically widespread chain is Good Beer, which operates in 80 cities and villages in Ukraine. This makes the brand one of the most visible at the local level. BeerMarket also has strong coverage (46 cities), while Hop Hey focused on 27 cities, but compensates for this with a large number of points in each location. O Market covers 10 cities, and smaller chains, such as PYVASOVĪ, Remeslo Brewery and Pivna Lavka, are present in 4 cities. Pivo Plus and Opillya are represented in only 2 and 1 city, respectively, which limits the scale of their influence. Tandem Plus has one location, but compensates for this with 30 years of experience in the market.
Tandem Plus is the most experienced player with 30 years on the market. Its stability has become a guarantee of trust among customers. Hop Hey and PYVASOVĪ have been operating for 16 years, forming a balance between traditions and modern business models. Remeslo Brewery has 10 years of experience, while Opillya, O Market, Pivo Plus, and BeerMarket have each been operating for 9 years. Pivna Lavka has 7 years of experience, and a relatively young player, Good Beer, has only 5 years, but has already actively declared itself on the market.

According to Google search queries, Hop Hey is the most popular, which is natural given the scale of the network. This is followed by Tandem Plus and Pivna Lavka, which have a long history and recognition among local customers. BeerMarket and PYVASOVĪ are in the middle of the ranking, while Opillya and Good Beer form a stable base of search queries thanks to their own beer and the development of the network. Remeslo Brewery and Pyvo Plus have lower indicators, while O Market closes the ranking, demonstrating potential for growth in the field of digital promotion.
The highest customer ratings were received by Remeslo Brewery, Good Beer and O Market — 9 points each. High satisfaction levels were achieved by Hop Hey, Opillya, PYVASOVĪ, BeerMarket, Pivna Lavka and Tandem Plus — 8 points each. Pyvo Plus received a lower result — 7 points, indicating the need to improve service and communication with customers.

The best reviews are from Remeslo Brewery (98% positive), which indicates trust in the craft segment. O Market (94%) and Good Beer (93%) also demonstrate a high level of loyalty. Tandem Plus received 89%, PIVASOV – 87%, Hop Hey – 86%. Slightly lower figures are from Opillya (85%), Pivna Lavka (84%) and BeerMarket (83%). The lowest level of support is from Pyvo Plus – 79%.
In terms of traffic to the site, the undisputed leader is Hop Hey – 62,545 visits per month. This is several times higher than the indicators of its closest competitors. Opillya (9,937), O Market (5,225) and BeerMarket (4,925) occupy middle positions, demonstrating stable digital activity. Lower numbers were recorded for Pivna Lavka (2,755), Tandem Plus (2,731), Remeslo Brewery (1,629), and PIVASOV (776). The lowest results were shown by Good Beer (740) and Pyvo Plus (403).

The leader in terms of presence in social networks is Tandem Plus with 4 active platforms. Hop Hey, Pyvo Plus, PYVASOVĪ and BeerMarket have 3 pages each, which allows them to maintain constant contact with the audience. Remeslo Brewery, Pivna Lavka and O Market have 2 pages each. Good Beer has only one active page, while Opillya is practically not represented in social networks, which may hinder the development of the brand in the online space.

The beer store market in Ukraine in 2025 combines several strategies: some brands rely on scale and wide geography (Hop Hey, Good Beer, BeerMarket), others – on a unique assortment and quality of craft (Remeslo Brewery, Pivna Lavka). There are companies that maintain their positions thanks to experience (Tandem Plus, Opillya), and there are those that actively develop digital channels (O Market, BeerMarket). Regardless of scale, all participants in the rating are shaping the culture of beer consumption in Ukraine, making it more diverse and modern.
