TOP 10 RENEWABLE ENERGY COMPANIES IN UKRAINE 2025
Rating of the Best Renewable Energy Companies in Ukraine from Ukrainian Business Award

Renewable energy in Ukraine in 2025 is not just a development sector, but a strategic infrastructure that determines the country’s energy independence. Companies in this sector operate in difficult conditions: military risks, changes in regulatory policy, access to financing and instability of sales markets. At the same time, it is here that long-term capital is formed, investments are concentrated and large-scale projects with real physical assets are implemented. Ukrainian Business Award analyzed the key players in the industry by technical, financial and digital indicators. The rating included companies that demonstrate real results, consistency and the ability to work over a period of years.
Total installed capacity is a basic marker of the scale of the business and its impact on the country’s energy system. The highest indicators are demonstrated by KNESS Group with a result of 1300 MW and DTEK VDE, which implemented 1100 MW of capacity in the RES segment. Significantly lower, but still at a high level, are UDP Renewables (575.7 MW) and Wind Parks of Ukraine (289 MW). Clean Energy (246 MW), Eco Optima (216.8 MW) and Rengy Development (160 MW) form a stable middle segment of the market. Smaller volumes are represented by Greenville (110 MW) and Energo Invest (34 MW), which indicates local or niche projects. Capacities directly reflect the investment capacity and long-term capabilities of companies.

The number of completed projects shows not only the scale, but also the operational intensity of the company. The absolute record holder in this category is KNESS Group, which implemented 160 projects, which is a unique indicator for the industry. This is followed by Energo Invest (22 projects), Rengy Development (20), Eco Optima (18) and Clean Energy (16), which demonstrate high project activity. UDP Renewables has 14 projects, Wind Parks of Ukraine — 9, and DTEK VDE — 7 large-scale facilities. There are significantly fewer implementations in ETG (2) and Greenville (1), which is explained by the concentration on large, capital-intensive projects. The approach to quantity versus scale differs significantly between players.
Liquidity shows the company’s ability to meet short-term obligations and is critical for financial stability. Clean Energy has the highest indicator — 14.76, which indicates an extremely high margin of financial safety. Strong positions are demonstrated by Eco Optima (2.91), Wind Parks of Ukraine (2.19) and Energo Invest (1.96). KNESS Group (1.24) and ETG (1.0) are in the balanced zone. DTEK VDE (0.97) and Rengy Development (0.9) have lower values, which requires careful liability management. UDP Renewables (0.41) and Greenville (0) have critically low indicators, which significantly affects financial risks.

The level of debt demonstrates how aggressively the company uses leverage. Clean Energy has the most controlled balance sheet structure — only 2.46%, which is an exceptional result for the energy sector. Relatively low figures are in Eco Optima (19.96%), Energo Invest (29.72%) and KNESS Group (39.3%). Higher values are in Wind Parks of Ukraine (42.82%), ETG (91.65%) and DTEK VDE (93.71%). Critical figures are recorded in Rengy Development (109.72%) and UDP Renewables (209.23%), which signals an excess of debt over assets. Greenville demonstrates zero debt, which is explained by the structure of assets and financing.
Brand searches reflect the public recognition and information influence of companies. The absolute leader in this indicator was Greenville with 2970 requests, which distinguishes it from all participants in the rating. High values are also in ETG (1490) and Energo Invest (520), which are actively present in the information field. Eco Optima (260), UDP Renewables (240) and Wind Parks of Ukraine (200) demonstrate a stable average level of interest. DTEK VDE, Clean Energy, Rengy Development and KNESS Group have a smaller number of requests, but remain recognizable in the professional environment.

Digital efficiency is an important factor in communicating with investors, partners and regulators. The maximum score of 10 points was received by DTEK Renewable Energy, Eco Optima and Rengy Development, which have technically strong and stable web resources. High indicators were also obtained by Clean Energy, Greenville, ETG, KNESS Group and Energo Invest – 9 points each. UDP Renewables received 8 points, and Wind Parks of Ukraine – 7, which indicates the need to improve digital tools. In general, the level of web presence in the industry already meets international standards.
Experience in the renewable energy sector is a critical factor in reliability and reputation. Energo Invest has been operating for the longest time – 28 years, which makes the company the oldest player in the rating. Next were Greenville (18 years), DTEK Renewable Energy (17), Rengy Development and KNESS Group (16 each), Wind Parks of Ukraine (15) and Eco Optima (14). Clean Energy has 10 years of experience, UDP Renewables has 9, and ETG has 8. The difference in the age of the companies reflects the different business models and stages of development of the industry.

Online traffic is an indicator of public activity and communication effectiveness. DTEK Renewables became the leader in terms of traffic — 25,262 users, which emphasizes its role as an industry flagship. ETG (16,441) and KNESS Group (16,635), which actively work with content and news, have strong positions. Greenville, UDP Renewables, and Wind Parks of Ukraine showed an average level. Low traffic in Eco Optima, Clean Energy, and Rengy Development indicates a focus on B2B and project activities. Energo Invest has virtually no digital traffic, which reduces the company’s openness.

Financial dynamics show the real efficiency of the business over time. The largest absolute revenue volumes are demonstrated by ETG, which consistently exceeds UAH 2.8 billion in 2024. Clean Energy (+117.85%) and KNESS Group (+90.39%) showed high positive growth dynamics, which indicates an active scaling phase. Rengy Development (+48.32%), DTEK RES (+44.11%) and Eco Optima (+34.56%) maintain stable growth. Energo Invest demonstrates moderate positive dynamics (+27.72%), while Wind Parks of Ukraine has a negative indicator (-42.11%). Greenville does not demonstrate financial dynamics in revenue for the reporting period.
Activity in social networks increasingly affects the image of companies even in the heavy infrastructure industry. The highest scores were received by DTEK RES, Greenville, ETG and KNESS Group — 8 points each. Rengy Development and Wind Parks of Ukraine also demonstrate high activity. Eco Optima (6) and UDP Renewables (2) have a moderate presence. Clean Energy received only 1 point, and Energo Invest – 0, indicating a virtual absence of social communications.

The TOP 10 renewable energy companies in Ukraine 2025 ranking demonstrates an extremely diverse structure of the industry. Some players focus on scale and capacity, others on financial stability or digital presence. ETG, DTEK VDE, KNESS Group and Clean Energy form the core of the market, while Eco Optima, Rengy Development and Wind Parks of Ukraine maintain strong positions in their segments.
